Earlier this year, the UK, France and Canada announced an import ban on illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank. Australia failed to join them because it may “inadvertently harm Palestinian businesses, workers and livelihoods.”
This week, I asked the Foreign Affairs Minister about this dodgy justification and called out the government for apparently consulting no Palestinian or human rights groups in their decision.
